Welcome to the meetup group for Brighton Spiritual Cinema Meetup! There are many wonderful movies that have an inspirational, empowering, or spiritual theme that never make it into mainstream cinema, so here is a chance for you to spend a chilled out evening with some like-minded friends, in a comfortable setting (hot mug of tea in hand!), to enjoy and discuss movies with a spiritual theme. Spiritual cinema may address questions like: Why are we here? Who are we? What could we become if lived w …
Ok here's the idea... A book group but for films! Every week we meet and choose a film to watch sometime in the next 7 days. We each then go away and watch it in our own time before meeting up the following week to discuss it (and life in general) over a few drinks. As this is a brand new group any suggestions for locations welcomed. The idea is we will pick films by consensus but will have to see what works best. Personally I like a wide range of cinema but interested in Art-house world cinem …

Let's get together and figure out how to make movies - independently. London has a plethora of fabulous talent: Screenwriters, film directors, producers, actors. Let's meetup and figure it all out. Lets make some movies.
The idea is simplicity itself - just getting together a few people interested in seeing plays and other theatrical performances, and independent / interesting films, in Islington and Hackney (and, once in a while, sneaky jaunts further afield). For each outing there will be plans to have something to eat or drink beforehand or afterward - you're welcome to join in but it's not compulsory! Key places will be: • theatres - the Almeida, the Arcola, the Red Lion, the King's Head, the Rosemary Branch …

I've been the proud carrier of a Cineworld Unlimited card for a couple of years now, so long that it's turned into one of those exclusive black cards that get you 20% off popcorn rather than 10%... I see pretty much everything that's at the movies: this week, I saw The Host, In The House, Trance and GI Joe: Retaliation - whenever the Cineworld advert comes on saying, 'Love Movies?' I'm, like, yes! that's me! l-o-v-e the movies! I've started wondering...who are all the other people who love movie …
Meet other local Movie Fans! Get together to watch the latest mainstream and independent cinema releases! Join us! All events are free to attend except for your cinema ticket or quizzes to cover costs. Its a great stress buster and a great way to meet new friends. We hope we get to know people from different cultures and have a great time together. We normally go for an informal drink after the film has finished, that is of course optional, what matters is that we have a great time! See you soo …

This group is different. Unlike most other film meetup groups, the focus of this one is less on Hollywood / major film studio blockbusters and more on intelligent, thought-provoking, alternative cinema - i.e. contemporary and classic world cinema, arthouse, documentaries, independent ('low budget') and short films. Featured screenings (and post-film discussions) take place at a variety of cinemas/venues in and around London. If there is demand, there will also be the opportunity to attend other …
